Celerio lineata livornica (Celerio lineata livornica) is a species of animal in the genus Celerio. Manchurian hawkmoth damages leaves with larvae, causing sea buckthorn or sand jujube to not grow normally, seriously affecting the yield and crown growth. At the same time, the hawkmoth has the characteristics of fast reproduction, strong concealment, and the larvae are not easy to be found, which brings great difficulties to the control.

Morphological characteristics

Adult: 31-39 mm in body length, 70-75 mm in wingspan, densely covered with gray-brown scales on the prothorax and back, and extending forward through the antennae to both ends of the top of the head, with white scale bands on both sides. The abdomen is lighter in color than the chest, and there are black and white spots on the sides of the 1-2 segments of the abdomen. The front edge of the forewing is dark brown, the trailing and outer edges of the forewing are white, the base of the hindwing is black, and there is a large white spot at the rump angle, the underside of the forewing and hindwing is gray-yellow, and the black stripe at the end of the forewing is visible.

Egg: short oval, green, 1.2 to 1.4 mm in diameter, gray-green when hatching.

Larvae: 60-70 mm in length, green on the back, densely covered with white spots. There is a white stripe on each side of the chest and abdomen, the ventral surface is light green, the tail angle is thin, the back is black, and there are small spines. The body color of the newly hatched larvae is gray-white, and after feeding, the body color changes to light green, which is consistent with the color of the leaves, and the mature larvae are lavender.

Pupa: 43 mm long, light brown, slightly green on the cephalothorax, darker at the rear end of the abdomen, and sharp at the end.
